Program: New construction of dealership and showroom using industrial materials
Uke’s Harley-Davidson
This muscular new facility perfectly captures the unique industrial heritage that is at the core of the Harley-Davidson culture and identity. To take advantage of the dealership’s location along a busy interstate highway, TKWA designed a prominent 65’ tall steel and glass motorcycle tower that acts as a beacon for travelers. The tower also helps define a courtyard used as a gathering place for motorcycle enthusiasts.
The choice of interior finish materials, fixtures, and colors was carefully selected to reflect the language of motorcycles and to reinforce the Harley-Davidson brand image. Polished terrazzo floors evoke the look of the “road”. Wood and copper counters add warmth and eye-catching detail. A mezzanine level museum containing historic motorcycles and related artifacts is wrapped by steel mesh railing with steel and hex head bolt accents.
