Three Bridges Park

As part of the highly anticipated redevelopment of the Menomonee Valley into a recreational corridor, TKWA was hired to design two of the three new bike/pedestrian bridges incorporated into Three Bridges Park. They are constructed of Cor-Ten steel with concrete pillars with spans of 270 feet and 162 feet and provide attractive new linkages between Milwaukee’s near South Side neighborhoods and the Menomonee Valley.

With approximately two miles of trails, the new park offers naturalized habitat for birds and other wildlife, fishing and canoeing access to the Milwaukee River, hiking trails, and community gardens. Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center will also use the park and trail system as an outdoor classroom.

The bridges were constructed with funds provided by the Wisconsin State Department of Transportation.
