The Monroe Arts Center is a community-based arts organization currently located in an 1869 Gothic Revival-style church listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. TKWA was hired to design a contemporary, yet sensitive, addition to the facility that would address a variety of program needs. The primary concerns of the expansion plan include the addition of gallery space, increased public gathering space for the existing first floor performance space, and improved handicapped accessibility. The expansion plan also offers the opportunity to create a new public entrance and a more prominent presence in the community.
