Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
The campus academic library has long held a central position as the heart of an institution – both symbolically and physically. With this extensive renovation plan, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Golda Meir Library is working with TKWA to create a new focal point for the campus community, integrating technology, services and academics into an attractive, welcoming place for students.

The Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons was specifically developed to support the growth of collaborative learning and team projects as an educational learning model. Featuring group study rooms, a technology-rich environment, and a café, the new commons will offer vibrant and engaging learning spaces for students to gather, interact, and work together. Two classrooms for information literacy instruction will be created, and public seating will double in the area. The remodeling will also offer students ready access to writing, tutoring, and information technology support services.
