Program: Master plan for long-term development of downtown commercial core, with focus on historic preservation and community-building
Elm Grove Downtown Master Plan
The Kubala Washatko Architects, Inc. were part of a planning team that helped the Village of Elm Grove develop a long-range guide for the downtown commercial core. The Village wanted to establish “a common community vision that provides for progressive growth and development while preserving the history and charm that make Elm Grove unique.”
The Conceptual Downtown Master Plan addressed many issues, including: flood control and creek naturalization; riverwalk development; improved traffic circulation; creation of a safe, pedestrian-friendly environment; enhancement of the village’s unique identity and small town atmosphere; maintaining a viable downtown business district; and the potential for redevelopment of key downtown sites.
